I’m so happy you are here. I’m Alyssa — professional dog mom, creative designer, and hobbyist photographer. I started WWL while I was still in college and planning a wedding.
My biggest goals include the growth of midwest-female-owned businesses through positive and compelling brand strategies and growing a team of women around me to pursue the same passion. Basically, I’m a weirdo, just like the rest of you, who likes to make cute things and help women succeed.
You have a story. That story is the most crucial asset to developing your brand. Who are you? What do you value? How do you serve? Most importantly, why?
I know, I know. You may be thinking something like, “I just make XYZ because I like it.” I feel that. Trust me, I started like that! I made t-shirts because t-shirts are the best, and I was tired of buying mega overprices & unoriginal shirts from fast fashion sites.
You play such a vital role in your branding. Because a brand is more than a logo — although those do play a huge part! A brand is an experience.
Don’t worry! If this is starting to make your armpits to have the nervous sweats, I’m here for you. My pits get sweaty, too.
To put it simply, your brand is your statement; it defines your purpose. And if done right, your brand promotes positive connections with real people.
Using my contemporary & creative strategies, I will help you explore your story and demonstrate how it falls into branding’s three pillars. Visuals. Voice. Experience.
Let me quickly introduce myself. I’m Alyssa Calbert. I’m a professional dog mom and full-time Instagram addict.
My design background could take me the way back to my fascination with drawing on everything with Sharpies as a kid, but more recently, I worked as the lead designer in a large, in-house agency. In January of 2020, I left my traditional job to pursue my desire to boost women up in the business world.
My skills and services include modern brand strategy and identity development, print and digital layout, and web design.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE to combine my professional background with my personality. Like wearing Jeans to every meeting and lots of jokes. But I’ll always be prepared (and probably early!)
1. My focus will always the best interest of your business. Branding is like chess; you have to be able to think a few steps ahead.
2. I don’t check my email on weekends. I will occasionally, but unless it is deemed an emergency, it can wait until Monday.
3. Your voice matters. I know you are hiring me for my expertise, but this is a team effort. I will share my thoughts and advice, but your opinion and feedback are expected. Don’t worry about feeling picky or like it’s an inconvenience for me. Lol. That is what you are supposed to do and what I signed up for.
